The Victorian Department of Health recognises UV protection as a key co-benefit of incorporating shade in its  Tackling climate change and its impacts on health through municipal public health and wellbeing planning – Guidance for local government 2024 .

To support UV risk reduction across your Local Government Area ( LGA) and integrate UV protection as a key co-benefit of shade and greening in your Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) or integrated Council Plan due in October 2025,  SunSmart has outlined tailored UV protection recommendations for your LGA.
