International organizations

The World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations with 194 Member States. WHO is responsible for international public health. It coordinates the world’s response to health emergencies, promotes well-being, prevents disease, and expands access to health care.

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is an intergovernmental organization with a membership of 193 Member States and Territories. The World Meteorological Organization is the specialised agency of the United Nations for meteorology (weather and climate), operational hydrology and related geophysical sciences.

The International Labour Organization is the United Nations agency for the world of work. We bring together governments, employers and workers to drive a human-centred approach to the future of work through employment creation, rights at work, social protection and social dialogue.

UNEP is the leading global voice on the environment. It provides leadership and encourages partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts is an independent intergovernmental organisation supported by most of the nations of Europe. It is both a research institute and a 24/7 operational service, producing global numerical weather predictions and other data.


National agencies

The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) is the Australian Government's primary authority on radiation protection and nuclear safety. ARPANSA has the objective of protecting people and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation. It is a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Radiation Protection.

The Bureau of Meteorology is Australia's national weather, climate and water agency. Through regular forecasts, warnings, monitoring and advice spanning the Australian region and Antarctic territory, the Bureau provides one of the most fundamental and widely used services of government.
