Finding sunscreen for an event

As a program of Cancer Council Victoria – a charity organisation – SunSmart does not have the funding to provide sunscreen for community events.

Skin Health, the distributors of Cancer Council sunscreen; have generously agreed to provide some sunscreen donations to community and charity events each year, at their discretion.

Complete the Cancer Council Australia Sunscreen sponsorship application form [pdf 35.24K] and return it to Skin Health at least six weeks before your event. There is a $30 postage fee.

Visit the Skin Health website for information on their products or contact Skin Health on (03) 9861 7000 if you have questions.

Other suggestions include:

  • Reminding patrons through pre-event promotions to come prepared to be safe in the sun. Encourage them to BYO sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and, if practical, shade.
  • SunSmart Outdoor Event Kit has more suggestions on how to create a sunburn-free event.
  • Contact a local sunscreen retailer, such as a pharmacy or supermarket, who may like to support your event with sunscreen.
  • Purchase sunscreen in bulk and receive a discount.
  • Schedule your event to occur outside SunSmart UV Alert times. Make it a twilight event so there is no need for sunscreen.
