Workplace education services

Training should be provided to:

  • outdoor employees and new staff
  • supervisors and health and safety representatives
  • safety officers, health and safety management personnel and employers.

Benefits of sun protection training include:

  • raising the understanding of sun protection as a health and safety issue
  • dispelling common misconceptions and barriers
  • ensuring new staff are aware of sun protection practices
  • increasing awareness of signs and symptoms of skin cancer and how to detect skin cancer early
  • ensuring safety personnel have knowledge and skills to confidently address sun protection and supervise employees
  • demonstrating commitment of management to providing a safe work environment.

SunSmart provides help to deliver workplace training, including:

  • Working outdoors – a skin cancer risk: a one hour face-to-face education session for employees. Fill in the online Workplace education booking form.

  • Working safely in the sun: an online training course for outdoor workers. It's also suitable for staff induction, refresher training and professional development.
