It is easy to get sun damage (sunburn and tanning) during sport and outdoor events.

Festivals and outdoor events

Be prepared and avoid heading home at the end of the day with telltale signs of skin damage such as a red nose, sunburn and a tan-line.

Sports

Many popular sports such as cricket, tennis, golf, lawn bowls, athletics, surfing and triathlon experience their highest participation between September and April when ultraviolet (UV) radiation levels reach high to extreme levels in Victoria.

At the snow, near water or in alpine regions

It’s important to realise that you can burn just as easily on the ski slopes as on the beach so make sure to pack sun protection gear for the snow and avoid a crash and burn experience this winter!
