E-6/P-6/special education schools

SunSmart member schools encourage healthy sun exposure for vitamin D and ensure appropriate sun protection measures are used to minimise skin and eye damage and the risk of skin cancer. Is your school a member?

Practices are recorded in a written SunSmart policy, which is approved by Cancer Council Victoria.

Use the sample SunSmart policy for primary schools [pdf 117K] to guide the development of your policy.

Download the SunSmart schools application form [pdf 264K] to apply and join the SunSmart schools membership program once your policy is finalised.

The booklet Being SunSmart: a guide for primary schools [pdf 2.27M] provides advice about sun protection challenges and suggested solutions.

Complete the SunSmart school online policy review to ensure your policy is up-to-date and working well. The review automatically renews your membership. SunSmart recommends that schools evaluate their policy at least every three years.
