Need help with a school project?

Are you working on a project about skin cancer, sun protection, UV radiation or the SunSmart program itself? 

Helpful hints

  • If you can't find what you are looking for, use the ‘Search' function. It's in the top, right hand corner of the page. Use keywords or topic headings.
  • If the entire page is useful, you can print or email it by using the ‘Print this page' or ‘Email this page' functions. Scroll down the page – they are underneath the last sentence.
  • Tables and diagrams can be copied and pasted straight into your project. Roll mouse over the object or the text to highlight, then right click to copy. Make sure you reference copied information properly.

Skin cancer

Provides an overview of the disease, types of skin cancer, risk factors, early detection and treatment.

UV

A useful section for understanding UV and factors affecting UV levels. There's information about the health risks of too much and too little UV exposure, including sunburn and how to use the SunSmart UV Alert to guide your daily sun protection.

Sun protection 

Each of the five sun protection steps is closely examined to reveal tips for choosing and using measures to prevent skin cancer. The section looks at when it is safe to be outside without sun protection and places where people most often get sunburnt. There is also information about tanning and solariums.
